Why am I blogging for Social Norm!?

There are many ways to create a web presence when online marketing. A lot of people/companies will use the Pay-Per-Click (PPC) method. PPC marketing requires you to pay Google/Yahoo, etc., a certain amount of money per keyword click in order to show up on page 1 within their search engines. You can cap this marketing budget with Google and Yahoo and once your keywords have been searched and your budget is spent–they require you to re-up your marketing costs.

An alternative is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) marketing. When you create a blog as a filmmaker, and utilize your key-words in the content of your blog, you eventually have so many of your key-words on a regular basis that it flags the searches. If you blog correctly once a day, five days a week for two months, you can show up on page one of Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.

It is important in pre-production, production, and post production to create as much buzz about your project as possible in order to attract investors, distributors, and of course your fan base.

Blogs can be synced up with your other Social Media pages such as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Linked In, IMDB, etc. This means, when you post on your blog, the post shows up on all of your Social Media pages as well.

It’s one of many ways to word of mouth/guerrilla market your independent film project without spending a lot of money.
